The Adventures of Littl' Puddy - Chapter 3

MrNScale

Sorry guys.... Littl' Pud is still OK. He's all wrapped up warm and snug in his
packaging awaiting a long journey down to RWCJr. We haven't modified him, not knowing
what to do. So here's a little story I came up with:

Late this morning, two 'Specialty' cars came silently, except for the purring of
the F-Unit, gliding into our inbound yard.

The noon shift could hardly believe their eyes! Phil and Old-man Chris checked their
schedules and found that is two car train was the smallest one of the day and was
to been sent out early that evening. Astonished, they performed the 'check-ups'
a little more closely than usual. Everything checked out fine.

When the yard crew changed shifts, Phil and Old-man Chris told Simon, Scott and
Randy all about this specialty train.

That night, while Simon, Scott and Randy were sorting out the evening trains, Phil
came back to the yard to check up on things. He also brought his camera to take
some pictures. Now Phil is not a good photographer, but he got a few good pictures
here and there.

Littl' Pud Visits Michigan!

Phil also got a pretty good one while the train was leaving.

RWCJr

Just got home, and guess who was here when I arrived? Will post more photos later,
haven't even unpacked my luggage yet.

RW excercised his seniority rights to grab the engineers job of parading the official
SRO car over the division. Master Mechanic grabbed some photos (before and after
the run). There were going to be some major "brownies" (demerits) handed out if
the engine crew "sanded the flues" during the run. That would have painted Lil'
Puddy black!

Griff

Good Evening All,

It is with great joy that I bring you the much anticipated update of Lil' Puddy!

STORYTIME:

After arriving to the mill, a crew off-loaded the much needed parts for the automated
paper pulping system at the mill. ((About time those parts came in - I tell you
those ppl in IL sure are slow!!))

With those parts, the plant is now full swing - making paper - but not just any
paper - TOLIET PAPER. Hey - we all got to wipe! LOL

The workers at Griff's mill move at a nice Southern pace, especailly around the
holidays. And since I am a displaced Northerner - I can say everyday in the South
is a holiday - things get done SLOW!!! Kidding....much love to all my southern neighbors....

With this in mind, it took many years to produce enough TP to fill a 50' "not-so-Lil'
Puddy" Boxcar.....

So the car sat.....

And sat.....

And Sat....

AND SAT....

And all SRO members wondered....

And wondered.....

And wondered....

AND WONDERED....if GRIFF WOULD EVER SEND IT ON ITS WAY!!!???

What happens to a car that sits exposed to the elements in a semi-urban environment?

IT WEATHERS - and gets TAGGED!:

She was finally pushed out of the loading area - ready to be picked up by the next
servicing NS locomotive today:

Tomorrow AM - chalk full of John Wayne - "Rough and Tough - but don't take the crap
off of anyone Toliet Paper" - the Lil' Puddy will be heading back to the Land of
Lincoln - Illinois to deliver a ton of TP to our pal Redwall.

At least he'll never be without TP on his future visit to the porcelin throne! And
yes, once again we ALL WIPE! (Or should...lol)

Although this soon to arrive package has a boxcar with a "crappy" load, one might
be suprised to see what else ships with a boxcar filled with TP.....stay tuned

HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM THE GRIME SHOP!

January 4, 2007 6:23 AM - Lil' Puddy gets sepperated from a BNSF train crossover
with a few other new cars and heads out to Valley Lake on the Copper Mine Railroad.

9:37 AM - The Pudster rolles into Valley Lake from the North past one of many caves
in the town:

and she gets put into a siding to load the Valley Lake General store full of soft
TP fresh from Griff's paper mill:

Toilet Paper was also needed in the Kopper's Plastics plant, so puddy went right
to work over there:

DNHouston

Well now, let me tell you about the day I just had over in Jasper.

It seemed that Billy Joe had decided to try his hand at "mind reading" again today.
Now just so that you know, Billy Joe Jay Mike Honey didn't have four first names
because his parents were creative. He had four first names because neither one of
his parents could decide on what to call him. They threw a bunch of names in a hat
and then ended up using all of them. Anyway, Billy Joe came by his mental prowess
naturally, "so to speak".

This morning I was feeling a little sluggish, so with an extra large Dr. Pepper
in one hand, I decided to let Billy Joe take a turn driving Dusty Junction switcher
#81 around while I played co-pilot. Little did I know at the time that he was going
to perform his rendition of "Carnac the Magnificient". Surprisingly, he did rather
well until we came upon a little, once white, transfer that came in from the Blue
Bayou RR. Seems that she was originally from some "Canadian" railway called the
PVR and that some delinquent had tagged her as "Lil Pud".

Well, Billy Joe took one look at the maple leafs on the side and exclaimed, "Hey
Dave, we got us a shipment of ice from Canada!" and off he sped to the icing platform.

By the time I finally convinced Billy Joe that there was no way they had filled
a boxcar with ice, he had come up with his second "brilliant" idea.

"I've got it! Them Canadians are big on beer. This must be a carload of beer!"

With that, he was off to the warehouse to drop off his dream load of beer, just
whistling up a storm. I felt almost bad having to explain to him that this boxcar
wasn't loaded with beer but that it was in fact loaded with Texas Longhorn collectibles.
So even though he had the contents wrong, he just happened to be going to the right
place.

Once we got this strange boxcar over to the warehouse, we received word that we
were supposed to wait for unloading and then take it immediately over to be reloaded.
Betty Lou over at the nursery wanted to load it up with all of her beautiful pink
pansies and Dennis over at the stockyard wanted to use her to cart off all the bags
of manure that had been collecting around. But when Junior called in that there
was an emergency shipment of crates and barrels that needed to go out to Kentucky
and it had to be on the evening setout, we knew where we were headed as soon as
she was unloaded.

"Who knows, maybe those barrels will be used for some of that great Kentucky whiskey!"
chimed in Billy Joe.

So we both sat around for a few hours, wishing we had some of that Canadian beer
or Kentucky whiskey that Billy Joe had dreamt up, while we waited for "Lil Pud"
to be loaded.

Then we hooked her up and hauled her off to the interchange with our big brother,
the AT&SF, bound for Kentucky.

Adios "Lil Pud", you were a strange looking car, but you sure made for an interesting
day!
